Caulkins & Bruce, PC Welcomes Susan J. King

Caulkins & Bruce, PC is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2013, Susan J. King joined the firm. We are excited to welcome Susan and know that she will enhance the firm’s ability to provide a wide range of legal services to our business clients. Susan’s practice complements our existing business litigation and business representation practices and adds the additional areas of merger and acquisition transactions, as well as private placement of debt and equity securities, including angel rounds and venture capital transactions.

Susan has successfully led and closed more than 35 mergers and acquisition transactions, and has assisted her clients in raising more than $160 million in debt and equity. She represents a diverse client base, including e-commerce companies, government contractors Internet content providers, software developers, distributors of digital recording and storage systems, health care service providers and consulting companies.

Susan is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia Bars. She is admitted to practice in the Virginia State and District of Columbia Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She will be based in our office located at 2300 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia.

  • "Defended an officer of a government contractor in a case involving enforcement of a non-competition agreement."

  • "Defended and achieved favorable settlement of wrongful termination and discrimination claims brought in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia."

  • "Served as outside counsel to several franchisors, prepared franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents and state franchise registrations, and counseled franchisors regarding franchise compliance issues."
